Scaling Your Business: Insights and Execution webinar on May 6, outlined a framework for exponential growth. Organized as part of CorporateConnections Learning & Development initiatives, the webinar was attended by CC1 Dubai members, overseas members from other chapter, and guests.
I share with you the webinar content in brief as I believe it can help many business owners to understand what it means to scale and how to go about scaling your business.
Aseem Datar presented the seminar in his personal capacity. He was instrumental in growing the cloud business for the fastest growing cloud company, Microsoft Azure.
Aseem presented a very comprehensive approach on scaling a business and began with distinguishing the difference between growth and scale. While growth is increasing revenue proportionally to resources, scale is growing revenue at a rate much faster than the rate of costs.
His framework for scaling is focused on six areas.
- Fundamental First
- Investing in ROI
- Customer Delight
- Technology Enablement
- Measurement KPIs
- Culture and Team
First is assuring that fundamentals are secured, and then Investing in ROI not just for the company but also for the customer’s ROI. Next would be ensuring Customer Delight to ensure recurring revenue. Technology plays a big role in enabling but must be left to experts from outside. He emphasized on Measurements to track important KPIs, but cautioned on having only few meaningful ones. And finally he said Culture and the Team plays a very critical role and businessmen must pay due attention to it.
He took on questions from the attendees to provide answers relating to growth of B2B marketplace, resource planning, and the future of work from home. The 90-minute session was wholly appreciated as evident by the gratitude expressed in the chat, and thereafter in CC chat groups.
